Hello, friends. My name is Yousef Al-Ghazali. I am 33 years old. I used to work as an engineer before my life took a tragic turn. I am married and have a two-and-a-half-year-old son, Karim. I lived with my family in a beautiful house and we had bright dreams, but suddenly our hopes were turned upside down after the outbreak of war. I lost my home and my job, and now I have no source of income. My wife, my child, and I were displaced several times due to bombing and destruction. Now we are living in tragic conditions in northern Gaza after losing everything.

Note: This campaign is organised by Shaun Bickley in Queensland, Australia. I met Yousef in October 2024 and we quickly became friends. We speak every day by Twitter or What’s App, and I’ve watched him struggle through insurmountable odds.

Palestinians are reliant on others to open these accounts for them. Yousef had a GoFundMe (which takes large fees). Recently an unethical person stole $1100 in donations meant for Yousef and his family, and he asked me to open this Chuffed for him.

He needs a stable, reliable way to raise funds to keep his family alive. I will also post screenshots of the funds I send to him in this folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uTnKoBgtnY27U7xNOOwZ-eGckUjFrRqK?usp=sharing

Wow! After posting about Yousef’s health and dental needs, he got $540 AUD ($350 USD) overnight–he was moved to tears. Did he get to use it on himself?

Well.

He attended his first of 2 dental appointments. But then his wife, Lina, was suffering severe abdominal pain and couldn’t feel a foetal heartbeat. Fearing the worst, he took her to the doctor where they found out the baby was okay–but Lina needed more vitamins and folic acid, which he was able to provide.

Even better, food prices in Gaza dropped suddenly as goods rushed into the Strip. Yousef reports:

“Food prices have decreased. I bought with all the money I had. I bought cheese, the first time we’ve seen it in months. I bought flour, I bought dates and i bought frying oil. I will also buy sugar and rice.”

Across Gaza, people who last week could not afford flour are reporting being able to buy flour and cheese and fruit. This is an incredible opportunity to get some calories into Yousef’s family.

Unfortunately, Karim developed a large, painful boil on his inner thigh. He couldn’t sleep all night. Yousef had to take him to the doctor to have it cleaned out and for him to receive an antibiotic. The next day, more boils appeared across Karim’s body, one of them bleeding. The doctor believes it is due to either water pollution or a skin infection.

We’ve sent all available funds so Karim can go back to the doctor and be treated again. Yousef is exhausted and depressed by the number of crises that keep piling up for his family.

Karim still needs treatment for his boils. Yousef still hasn’t had his second dentist appointment to remove the nerve. Lina will need vitamins to supplement her health. And all of them need nutritious food, as it’s available, so that they don’t keep developing health problems.

But everything so far has made it possible for them to survive and be treated, and for that Yousef is very grateful.

Hi friends. Yousef has been prioritising food for his son Karim, and his wife, who is pregnant, so his health has been suffering. Another tooth has broken in his mouth from malnutrition, and he needs to get it extracted.

His weight has dropped from 75 kg (165 lbs) at the start of the genocide to only 45 kg (99 lbs) now. He is anxious about the visible decline in his weight.

Today, an infection appeared on his face and spread rapidly. Yousef is extremely self-conscious and worried he will be disfigured.

A root canal for the broken tooth will cost 250 shekels, while antibiotic and ointment for his face will be 80. This is about $96.70 USD, but with the 52% withdrawal fee, I will need to send him $201.46 USDT. With the fee on binance, this means uploading $329.85 AUD.

Can we send him $330 AUD to take away his dental pain and ease his skin infection, and perhaps a bit more so he doesn’t have to go hungry while his family eats?

Yousef has lost a tooth from malnutrition.

The nerve is still inside his gums, causing him constant pain. He needs a root canal to remove it (replacing it requires materials that will be difficult and expensive to find). This will cost about $50 USD.

The bank is up to a 45% commission, so Yousef needs $90.91 USD to be able to withdraw $50.

This means we need to send him about $150 AUD or $97 USD to cover the costs of transferring through Binance.

If you’ve ever needed a root canal (I have) you know how agonising it is. Dealing with that level of pain in a genocide is something Yousef doesn’t need. This is a solveable problem, let’s help him fix it.
